My kids miss their friends and teachers as they have been a part of their lives for most of it. I highly recommend this daycare, if you haven't checked it out yet you should. My 3 month old has been going to Dana’s for two weeks now and they have met my expectations so far. I choose this specific childcare because I love the homey environment.

Even if we gain the public will to make this investment, it will not be a magic bullet or easy fix. We have a long road ahead, and we need to start now. If your child falls ill, in Germany you are legally entitled to take time off work to take care of them. The child sickness benefit will partially cover any lost earnings. If your preferred facility is a public Kita, you need to fill out and return a form to the Jugendamt, to indicate which you prefer. Fees for after-school care will vary according to what provision is being offered, how long your child is being cared for, and whether foodis included.
I would love nothing more than to be able to watch our granddaughters during the day. Being unable to do so, there is not another place that I’d rather them be. We have been using Dana's center since the beginning of June.

Dana Schreff has been a wonderful daycare provider for over 3 years for my first child and almost 2 years for my second. During their time in her care, my children have grown in their intelligence, social skills and have learned valuable lessons. Her attentiveness to the wellbeing and overall care of my children is above and beyond any typical daycare. She has provided them with a safe and loving environment, provided classroom like structured activities and given them plenty of indoor/outdoor physical activities as well.
I liked that very much as it shows she is dedicated and very involved in her center. The curriculum is wonderful, and the kids learn so much. They have plenty of outside time, free play, time for art, and special activities, like police, fire come in, going on walks and other trips.
He’s always happy and healthy at pick ups and even looks forward to going every day. We are thankful we were accepted into Dana’s Family Childcare. They have a small enrollment so it doesn’t feel like our son will get lost in the shuffle. Prices are very reasonable and they are always flexible and accommodating with our ever changing schedule. Dana is highly responsive and quick to respond back to any messages.
I was always sure they were in excellent hands when I dropped them off. I would highly recommend Dana as a childcare provider. My granddaughter loves Dana's daycare.She had learned so much and made so many friends. She loves her school and her teachers.Dana and her staff are wonderful people they truly care about the children. Our son has been going to Dana’s Family Childcare for 2 months.
I looked at a lot of daycares in that area and this one felt most “homey” to me. I thought my daughter would hate daycare considering she was just thrown into a strange place with strange people at an aware age, but to my surprise she loved it. The only thing I think could be improved is the entrance way has too many kids. It’s used as a room but its really an entry hall and shouldn’t have kids everywhere as parents enter to drop and pick up. Otherwise staff is nice, as attentive as possible to all the kids, and actually teach kids good curriculum. Large academy type daycares are no better than this one.
It has been a great experience for us to have our child here. The staff always communicates how the day went and if anything needs to be addressed. I am able to feel comfortable while I am at work that she is well taken care of.
When all things are ideal, each new employee is screened thoroughly. Dana has always been very professional and sincerely makes the children she cares for feel part of her family. The love she has for children is very apparent and shows in the way communicates with them.
If you wish to enrol your child at a private childcare facility, you can usually go and register them there directly. You might need to provide some documentation, such as your child's birth certificate, and you may be placed on a waiting list. Just as there are many different types of school in Germany, there are also different types of Kita. While some are publicly-funded, others are private; some, like Montessori or Waldorf Kitas, might follow a specific educational concept or philosophy. The type of Kita you choose affects the kind of early-years education your child will receive, as well as the fees.
